San Diego Chapter Nebraska Alumni Academics

Our chapter dedication to promoting the academic side of N.U. is unparalleled. The San Diego Chapter initiated the University of Nebraska Book Awards in 1996. We present "The Scholarly Edition of My Antonia", by Willa Cather, N.U. 1895 (published by the world renowned University of Nebraska Press), at several local high schools, to one junior, who has excelled in his/her English classes. With this program, we estimate that we say University of Nebraska to over 2,000 high school students annually.

The San Diego Chapter has a scholarship fund to assist local high school students who have applied, been accepted and enrolled at N.U. and need financial aid. The scholarship is awarded on a one time basis at the beginning of the recipient's freshman year at N.U.
